MEGAN MCCLELLAND'S WRITING PORTFOLIO

Welcome

The power that language has to shape and define our experiences is an awe-inspiring certainty. I believe journalism is the pursuit of truth and the interrogation of ideas. My approach is balanced, formal, comedic and better read than explained. Please look through my updated Writing Portfolio to discover more about my work.

MY CV

Writing Roles

January 2020 - Current

CONTRIBUTING WRITER ON CONDÉ NAST'S STUDENT MAGAZINE

As a writer for CNC's student magazine, I pitch stories relevant to their brand. These articles are typically centered around living in London, the fashion industry and events at the college. Being on the look-out for topics that bridge one or two of these sectors is a major part of the job. Planning is equally as important, seeing as the articles are published on a weekly basis. Additionally, the role includes sourcing photos or taking them for the college's social media.

November 2019 - Current

CONTRIBUTING WRITER AT THE PSYCHOLOGY OF FASHION

As a contributing writer at The Psychology of Fashion, I'm required meet deadlines while writing articles on a weekly basis. The content I create for the company's digital site is geared to the psychological center of the fashion publication.

Special skills: Squarespace and Microsoft Word

November 2018 - Current

FREELANCE JOURNALIST

Send pitches and write articles for clients, such as Escapee's magazine. I research the publications beforehand, so as to send them relevant coverage with their tone and overall style in mind. Coordinate with talent for interviews and work collaboratively with the camera crews, optimizing story visualizations for readers.
